- Situated in the Senba district to the west of Himeji Castle, this former physician’s residence occupies a site measuring roughly 50 by 40 meters and includes a collection of early Showa-period buildings (1930–1940). These comprise the main house, a building once used as a birth room, the Seihō-an teahouse, a water preparation room, waiting room, restroom facilities, a roji garden gate, a service entrance, and landscaped grounds. The entire complex is designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan.
The main house is a modern Japanese-style structure with a partially two‑story wooden design and a gently tiled roof. Inside, many period features remain, including an elegant Western‑style reception room and finely crafted details such as decorative transoms, ceiling panels, and meticulously made alcoves.
