- Built in the late Muromachi Period (16th century), the former Furui Family Residence was used as a house until 1967. With thatched roof, it is built with a hip-and-gable construction. A large stone called “kame ishi (turtle stone) is placed under the floor to ward off evil spirits. The house has been designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
