- Located on the western edge of Nagasaki, Takahama Beach is known for its distinctive rock formations, including Tsunakake Rock and the Meoto (Wedded) Rocks.
The beach stretches for nearly 1 kilometer of white sand, and its shallow, cobalt-blue waters are exceptionally beautiful. It has been selected for several prestigious listings, including “Japan’s Top 100 Beaches,” “Top 100 Excellent Bathing Beaches,” and “88 Best Swimming Beaches in Japan.”
Regular water quality inspections consistently rate the sea as excellent, and with its gentle waves, the beach is safe for children, making it especially popular with families.
Another highlight is the view beyond the white sands, where visitors can see Gunkanjima (Hashima Island)—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—rising on the horizon.
