- Designated as an Important Tangible Cultural Property of Miyoshi City. This has been the residence of successive generations of descendants of Horikawa Uchiki, the personal physician to Emperor Antoku, and it tells the story of the clan that settled in Iya after the fall of the Heike clan. The main house, built in 1867, along with the storehouse, the hearth, the thatched-roof attic, and the gassho-zukuri-style beams, all retain their original charm. The impressive wooden fixtures, weathered over many years by the smoke from the hearth, are also a sight to behold. The garden features an ancient tree estimated to be about 800 years old.
