- Construction of the old Yamaguchi Prefectural Office and Prefectural Assembly Hall was completed in 1916. Today, these buildings are a museum with exhibits about the past and present of Yamaguchi Prefecture. The former governor’s office and official meeting room are preserved in their original states and the buildings were designated Important Cultural Properties of Japan in 1984.
