- Takahashi City, Okayama Prefecture
- Description
- The residence of Hirokane, the village head of Onoro, who amassed immense wealth through the production of copper from the Koizumi Copper Mine and Rohas (ferrous sulfate) around the Kyōwa and Bunka periods (circa 1800), features impressive stone walls and a two-story gate (known as a rōmon, a gate without a roof on the first floor). Built in the late Edo period, the structure is comparable to a castle and still bears witness to the opulence of that era.
