- With the Juichimen Kannon Bosatsu (the 11-faced statue of Kannon) as its principal object of worship, the Kiyomizudera Temple, with a history of over 1400 years, is known as a temple for driving away evil spirits. Many National and Prefectural Important Cultural Assets are located on the grounds of the temple, covering an area of over 50,000 tsubo (approx. 41 acres), including the only three-storied pagoda in the San-in region.
