- In the Meiji era, Oji was the first place in Nara Prefecture to get a railroad, so it developed as Railroad Town, and still captures the attention of train fans around the country even today.
Funado Children's Park has a D51 steam train made in 1944 on display, and you can even get into the conductor's seat yourself.
It also looks incredible sitting next to the trains on the JR Kansai Main Line and the Kintetesu Tawaramoto Line, which run along either side of it.
