- The home of renowned author, Junichiro Tanizaki, from 1936 to 1943. Tanizaki lived here and wrote the famous novel Sasameyuki (The Makioka Sisters), which takes place here. The characters in the novel are modeled after Tanizaki’s wife, Matsuko, and her younger sisters. A collection of Tanizaki’s works and reference materials is displayed inside the house.
