- Suma-dera Temple is known nationwide as an “ancient temple associated with the Genpei War,” home to numerous treasures and historic sites, including Taira no Atsumori’s Aoba Flute, Benkei’s Bell, Atsumori’s Kubizuka(Head Mound), and the pine tree where Minamoto no Yoshitsune rested. The temple grounds are also home to many trees, including cherry blossoms, allowing visitors to enjoy the changing scenery throughout the seasons.
