- Aoyama Plateau, part of the Nunobiki Mountain Range, lies on the border between Iga City and Tsu City, stretching approximately 15 km from north to south. On clear days, it offers stunning views extending all the way to Ise Bay. Additionally, it serves as a wind corridor, channeling winds from Wakasa Bay through Lake Biwa to Ise Bay, maintaining a stable wind speed of 7 m/s throughout the year. Capitalizing on this natural feature, it hosts one of Japan's largest wind turbine clusters.
The road from the mountain's base to its summit is ideal for scenic drives, with the landscape and vegetation shifting beautifully with the change in elevation.
