- Description
- Mizusawa Park, located in central Oshu City, Iwate Prefecture, Japan, is an urban park believed to have been developed in 1878 under the design of Minomushi Sanjin.
It contains approximately 500 cherry trees, including ancient Higan cherry trees designated as a Natural Monument of Iwate Prefecture, making it a popular hanami (flower-viewing) spot in spring. Following the cherry blossoms, azaleas bloom, and in autumn the park features colorful foliage.
The grounds also contain historical sites and monuments, serving not only as a destination for sightseeing and strolling, but also as a location for filming movies and TV dramas.
