old private house along upper of Ayakawa river

This is an example of one of the few remaining recent samurai family house that still exist today.(the existing house was reconstructed after a big fire in Nabari in 1710.)

The residence, today a city-designated traditional structure, opened to the public in June 2010 as a museum that exhibits the traditional furniture and artwork of the Soma family.
