- This is a dam lake located about a 10-minute drive inland from the oldest hot spring village in the prefecture, the Shionoe Onsenkyo, which is said to have been discovered by Gyoki (668-749), a Japanese Buddhist monk, approximately 1200 years ago. The area is surrounded by mountains and is a tranquil location.
