- These beautiful terraced rice fields have been selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Terraced Rice Fields. They are located at elevations ranging from 500 to 700 meters. Instead of concrete, the slopes are supported by dry-stone retaining walls. Visitors can photograph the fields from a well-maintained concrete road. During the rainy season, the fields are flooded and shrouded in mist, and after the autumn harvest, visitors can also see the rice being spread out to dry.
