- The Okayama Prefectural Headquarters is the first governmental building designed by Kunio Maekawa, a leading figure in modern Japanese architecture who studied under the famous architect Le Corbusier. The main building's facade is covered with a steel sash curtain wall, featuring a powerful yet lightweight appearance that harmonizes with the exposed concrete columns and beams. To the north of the headquarters lies Korakuen Garden, and the ruins of Okayama Castle, while the southeast is graced by the Asahi River, making for a picturesque location surrounded by beautiful scenery.
