Description: Okutsu Onsen, one of the Mimasaka Three Hot Springs, was established during the Edo period (1603–1868) and developed into a hot spring town in the Taisho period (1912–1926). Along the river, traditional inns and guesthouses create a tranquil ambiance. Tracing its history reveals that Okutsu's waters date back to the mythological era (before the 6th century). It is said that renowned samurai once soaked in these springs to relieve fatigue and restore their vitality.
