- Closely associated with the figure believed to have inspired the famous Japanese folktale Momotaro, the Kibitsujinja Shrine is a National Treasure of Japan, officially listed as “The Main Sanctuary and the Worship Hall of the Kibitsujinja Shrine.” The roof of the Main Sanctuary in the style of "Hiyoku Irimoya Zukuri (the winged East Asian hip-and-gable) Roof" is the only one of its kind in Japan, thus also called "Kibitsu Zukuri." The most breathtaking and overwhelming feature of the shrine for the visitors is the 400-meter-long corridor from the Main Sanctuary which has been designated an Important Cultural Property of Okayama Prefecture.
