Description: The Ohama Beach (literally meaning “big beach”) is a white-sand beach in a traditional Japanese style with pine trees alongside the sand. The Sumoto Castle Ruins is on the mountain right behind the beach, offering a wide view of the Ohama Beach and the Osaka Bay. The beach is 750 meters long and was certified as Japan’s Top 100 Beaches in 2006. Ohama Beach has a long history and in the late Edo Period, artillery batteries were placed on the beach.
