Description: Built in 1000, Mirokuji Temple is a Buddhist temple of the Tendai sect and has a strong tie with Engyoji Temple. The temple gate, main hall, founder’s hall and other facilities are on the grounds of the temple. The main hall and the Miroku (Maitreya) Triad are designated as Important Cultural Properties of Japan. The largest statue of Hotei-son is also on the temple grounds.
