Description: An old Buddhist temple of the Tendai sect. The temple was burnt in a fire in 1573 but was rebuilt in 1586 by Hideyoshi. The wooden seated statue of Yakushi Nyorai is a Designated Cultural Property of Hyogo Prefecture and the wooden statue of Bishamonten (Vaisravana) has been designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. The main hall of the temple, along with the scripture house and the founder’s hall are all Important Cultural Properties of Japan.
