- This ceremony is held to express gratitude for the discovery and revival of Arima Onsen and to pray for the hot springs’ continued prosperity. It is also a New Year’s celebration featuring a procession of “yuna” (bath attendants) portrayed by Arima geisha, as well as the traditional “yumomi” hot spring stirring ritual. The event has been held since the Edo period and is designated as a Kobe City Intangible Folk Cultural Property.
