- Formerly the Kobe Municipal Raw Silk Inspection Center built in 1927. To the east is the National Raw Silk Inspection Center built in 1932. In 2008, Kobe City was certified as a design city in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, and the current Design and Creative Center Kobe (KIITO) opened in August 2012 as a base center for design-oriented activities. The facility includes offices, rental halls, meeting rooms, and a hall for events and exhibitions.
