- The lighthouse at Sakai Old Port South breakwater, built in the year Meiji 10 (1877), stands 11.3 meters tall and is shaped like a hexagonal pyramid. After land reclamation ended its initial purpose, it has been preserved as one of the symbols of Sakai, and it stands as the oldest wooden Western-style lighthouse in Japan, now a nationally designated historic site. Nearby, there's the Sakai Old Port and the Dragon Goddess Statue (Ryujoshinzo).
