Description: This is the residence of a wealthy farmer who served as a village headman on the left bank of the Chikuma River during the Edo period (1603-1868). The main house is constructed in a gabled thatched-roof style, facing south and featuring a thatched ridge roof.

The interior is a large residence that showcases the characteristics of traditional homes in the North Shinano region, with robust pillars and beams surrounding the earthen floor. Along the eastern edge of the property, structures such as a long-gate and a miso storehouse are lined up along the front road, surrounded by earthen walls, reflecting the grandeur of the affluent farmer's estate. The garden also contains a very rare pulley-style well.
