- Description
- This is a historic building that represents modern architecture from the Taishō period (1912–1926). Built in 1923 as a venue for cultural exchange within the community, it hosted lectures, theater performances, and music concerts, becoming well-loved by many citizens of the time. Despite having withstood wars and disasters, it has been preserved and is now used as a memorial hall that communicates the region's history and culture. The wooden Western-style exterior and interior decorations retain distinctive features of Taishō-era design, evoking a sense of history. Inside, exhibits related to the development of Takeno and the lives of its people are on display, allowing visitors to learn about local culture. This building, which still carries the breath of culture, is a valuable presence that conveys the echoes of the past.
