- A gallery and guesthouse created by renovating a Kanazawa machiya townhouse built in the early Showa period (1926–1945).
The building retains several distinctive traditional rooms preserved much as they were when first constructed. These include the “Gunjo Room,” featuring a striking bright blue–turquoise color scheme rarely seen in Kanazawa; the “Vermilion Room,” an elegant space with bengara‑colored earthen walls and a coffered lattice ceiling; and the “Uguisu Room,” designed in the refined sukiya architectural style with a boat‑shaped ceiling.
Traditional Japanese rooms rich in character have been carefully maintained, and family heirlooms such as paulownia chests (kiri‑tansu) are used throughout as furnishings.
