This is a flat land formed by the uplift caused by earthquakes (an uplifted wave-cut platform) spreads out. This easily walkable flat land is also a suitable place for gathering seaweed, and in the Sawasaki village, industries such as nori (seaweed) cultivation developed. On calm days, if you are fortunate, the flat land becomes thinly covered with water, allowing visitors to enjoy a mirrored world similar to the "Salar de Uyuni" salt flat.
