- The Kuroi Mine Ruins are the remnants of a settlement estimated to date back to the late Kofun period (250–538), approximately 1,500 years ago, which was buried under volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Haruna. Recognized for offering valuable insights into the lifestyle of that era, the site was designated as a national historic site in 1993. Set against the backdrop of Mount Komochi, the surrounding grassland provides a sense of openness and spaciousness.
