Description: This is an urban art museum located in the heart of Chikusei City, situated on the third floor of the Shimodate Community Center "Alterio," characterized by a large glass-enclosed elevated exhibition promenade. The design is by Yoshirou Ikehara, a member of the Japan Art Academy. The museum has a total floor space of 3,035.68 square meters and consists of four exhibition rooms.
Having opened in November 2003, the interior exhibition spaces have a contemporary feel. Light flows into the entrance of the museum from the open ceiling. The elevated exhibition promenade features a space with a futuristic atmosphere, with a beautiful and impressive contrast between glass and steel structures.
