- Near Kawarage Jigoku—one of Japan’s Three Great Sacred Sites—stands Kawarage Oyutaki, a rare waterfall fed by natural hot spring water.
The steaming cascade plunges about 20 meters, creating a powerful and dramatic spectacle. From early July through mid-September, when conditions permit, simple changing facilities are set up so visitors can bathe in the warm waters while wearing swimsuits.
