- The lake is located at about a 25-minute drive from Tsuchizawa Station. Tanise Lake, created by damming the Sarugaiishi River, is a large artificial lake with a circumference of 45 km. In the vicinity, there are facilities such as fishing parks and a marine center where water sports like canoeing and yachting can be enjoyed, making it a popular leisure spot. From mid-June to early July, approximately 200,000 irises color the lakeside.
