- Description
- The Granary Complex is a group of takayuka-shiki (traditional Japanese raised-floor) storehouses located within the jōsaku palisade. This elevated design lifts the floor above ground level to protect stored grain from moisture and pests, making it ideal for the long-term preservation of rice and other cereals. Faithfully reconstructed based on Heian-period architecture, they represent an important facility that supported both agriculture and defense. Today, the site also serves as a filming location for period dramas and historical productions.
